Overall the repair scheduling was quick and process very streamlined. Ron was fantastic and and spent so much time replacing heating element in my dryer and cleaning it. Took entire dryer apart with knowledge and efficiency. Just bought a house with high end neglected dryer. Folks, have your dryer vents cleaned regularly, and most importantly have it periodically serviced. Inside of my inherited dryer which didnt look that old, there was approximately 1-2 inches of thick lint on everything. Ron said lucky dryer didn't catch fire.

Our refrigerator recently stopped working and we weren't sure why. We had used Hartman's before and had good results, so we called them. They had Brian out later that day to diagnose the problem. They charged $20 for him driving out and then $160 (I think) to diagnose the problem. I wasn't thrilled about the $20 on top of the diagnostic fee, but what can you do.Our problem ended up being some circuit board that cost half an arm and leg but at least it wasn't the compressor, which I was told in advance they wouldn't work on and it costs more to replace than to buy a new unit. Brian replaced the board and realized that the fan was also not working properly. He ended up running out and buying the fan and bringing it right back, saving us having to wait another day to be through with this.Brian was awesome. He was professional and friendly and seemed to know his stuff. And the fact that he came early the day the part came in and came back with the fan that same morning, tells me the dude cares. I'll definitely use them again.

Washer broke down so I called Hartman’s Appliance Repair (HAR) Service as I had a pretty good experience with Brian the technician. HAR provided an appointment the very next day for 1300. The tech promptly showed up at 1300 (it was Brian again!) and went right to work running diagnostic checks. Figured out it was the motherboard, briefed me to the proposed part and labor cost and when I said yes to the repair ordered the part. HAR later set up a follow up appointment for the next at 1500. Brian showed up on time with part in hand and within the hour had the washer up and running. Brian was great and very patient with all my questions and even gave me some troubleshooting and maintenance tips. Thanks again Brian and HAR for getting our washer back online so quickly and economically, I deeply appreciate it!

We had someone come out when the freezer stopped working and they "reset" it by flipping the breaker to turn it off and on again. It didn't work. They told me if it was still not working after 24 hours to have them come back out to replace the board. No one checked in to see if our issue was solved. I had to call the office, and they gave me the owner's cell to text. I texted and he responded quickly initially but then never followed up afterwards unless I reached out to him first. He stated after weeks of searching that he couldn't find the board for our fridge to purchase, that it was not in stock anywhere. I found it immediately on Amazon and another online source. I sent it to him, waited again for weeks, and was finally told I should just purchase that one and they would install it. If I have to purchase it myself, then I'm going to install it myself. This was a huge waste of my time and money for a useless service call.

8 months later the SAME issue with my stove top has resurfaced, I reached out to Mark, and was ignored, today I spoke with Jenna from the office and was told they would have to do the diagnostic again to make sure it's not "other components" I feel if that's the case then they missed diagnosed the first time, as it's the same burner and the same issue, it's been under a year. I won't know what the labor would cost and if new parts would be involved, but if it's anywhere near the cost from the first time it doesn't make any financial sense to have it fixed a second time especially given the circumstances. I expressed this and asked if the diagnostic fee could be waived ( they refuse to even tell me how much labor would be just to replace the switch again - as the part should still be covered) but I was told the fees stand. Unless you have disposable income to just throw away or only want a temporary fix, call someone else!This company is overall very expensive, when calling to make my initial appointment I was told 19$ would be held ( which I thought would be towards the diagnostic fee of 145$) however it was to be added on top- they didn't have the part that I needed so they would need to come back ( which is fine ) when given the total price I was shown $581 which I thought was pretty high, they offered a 25$ off coupon and I felt I was stuck at that point between $165 for nothing or to continue with the repair for $556 so I begrudgingly said okay, let's do it. They asked for $250 deposit and would contact me back on install ( at that point I should have asked for a breakdown ) but I assumed perhaps this job was labor intensive, and the part very expensive. When I got my bill via email which I had to request to show I paid the 250$ I saw my bill was then almost $615 ( I had one burner not working on my class cooktop ) they had charged me tax, that I didn't realize wasn't already a part of the quote he didn't say 556 + tax, on top of that he charged me tax THEN took off the 25$ when I expressed the coupon should be applied before charging me tax I was told NO because taxes have to be paid on the full amount....( At this point I'm frustrated - because that has never been my experience with coupons but I'm very stuck at this point ) They scheduled me and sent me a confirmation text the day before with a time window . I was waiting around the day of then realized they had canceled saying my part wasn't in and I would be rescheduled for Monday. ( Mind you they sent this ONLY via email at almost 11, pm the night prior after already confirming they would be coming ) So I feel for cancelations they should call their customers or very least text, not email. They came to do the repair as scheduled and was done in 10 minutes flat. Sounds great, but left me wondering what the heck I was spending over 600$ for, how much is this part ? If the labor took less than 10 mins???? So I asked for a breakdown and was told he didn't have it, yet when inquiring about the connector piece that the plastic was still burnt. I was told it shouldn't hold any bearing on how it functioned with the new replacement piece and if I wanted that changed it was going to be an 200 extra so he seemed to know that but couldn't tell me how much the piece was that he was replacing was...So I let them know at the end that I wouldn't be recommending them because they were way too expensive. I didn't feel it was worth the cost for what they did, or that they were being transparent along the way. After leaving they had their manager Mark give me a call who listened to my complaints and said he would take notes of some of the things that I said. He told me the part was almost $300 ( which I find hard to believe - I didn't see anything close to that price for an infinite switch for whirlpool ) but he did do some "adjustments" to make me happier which I appreciate, and the only reason why I'm giving 3 stars... But I'm still not sure overall I feel I can trust them to give me a fair price for repairs and ultimately like I over paid for what was actually done.

This is my second time using Hartman with issues with two separate appliances. I booked Hartman Appliance Repair to come and provide a solution for fixing my washing machine. They charged me $20 to book the visit, which was completely fine, and informed me it would be $120 to run a diagnostic. They also explained that if I chose to use them for the repair, the $120 would go toward the repair cost.My service technician showed up, spent less than five minutes, briefly looked at my washer, did one thing, and then said, “You need to go shopping. It needs a new part, but we can’t get it. Good luck.” He then left — and still tried to charged my card the $120. My card had a fraud hold from my trip that I just got back from and flagged the $120 charge. I called the office and voiced my displeasure and they said they would only charge me $95. I told them I would call back once I spoke to my bank to let them know the hold had been lifted. Called my bank and they told me they would lift the hold. It was after hours so when I decided to look the next morning. They ran my card without a call.I understand they are a business, but showing up for less than five minutes just to tell me “good luck” and go buy a new machine felt like bad business. It came across as a quick way to make $115 from a customer with zero help. Feels like a scam, and I would never recommend them.

We had Hartman’s Appliance Repair Service come out to look at our washer that suddenly stopped working. The technician Brian arrived promptly, was very friendly, and seemed knowledgeable. I appreciated how quickly he was able to assess the issue.That said, I was a bit frustrated with the pricing policy. I was told upfront there would be a $20 service fee and an additional $120 diagnostic fee if I chose not to move forward with the repair. I understand and respect transparency, and I wouldn’t mind the charge if the diagnosis required significant effort or time. However, in this case, the tech simply spun the drum and immediately determined the problem, something that took all of 2 minutes. He quoted nearly $500 for the repair, so we had to make the decision that it doesn’t make sense to move forward with the repair when new washers don’t cost much more than that. The technician agreed.So now I’m out $140 and still need to purchase a new washer. While I don’t fault the technician personally, he was great, however; I do feel the $120 fee felt excessive given how minimal the actual diagnostic work was. I would have appreciated a bit more flexibility or consideration in cases like this.I think the experience could’ve been much more positive if there was a little flexibility with the diagnostic fee, especially since the issue was identified quickly with very little effort from the technician. Even a partial refund or a credit toward future service would go a long way in showing that the company values its customers and understands that no one wants to feel like they wasted money. That kind of gesture would not only improve customer satisfaction but also build trust and loyalty for the long term.

The issue: Whirlpool fridge stopped making ice.The solution: To replace faulty water intake valve which was dripping into the line and caused it to freeze solid.Pros1. Very easy to get an appointment, same day.2. The technician was on-time, competent, and pleasant.3. The diagnosis was quick and clearly communicatedCons1. The pricing that the company gave the repairman was over $500, then an offer to discount to $425.2. There is a $20 charge for the tech to come out, then $120 charge if you decide not to move forward with them.The OEM replacement part can be found various places online for $70-90 and the replacement is simple and takes 10 minutes. I ordered the part myself, received it within two days and easily fixed it.So $78 for the part and about 15-20 minutes of my time == $500 for Hartman. That is not a justifiable or reasonable markup. The $140 I had to eat for the services was pricey for only taking the diagnosis, but there was no way I would have figured that out as there wasn't anything I found that mentioned the possibility of a leaky valve (apparently it is very rare).

Great experience! I have a GE microwave that is only one year and five months old. This microwave came with my brand new townhome when I purchased it in late 2022. A couple of months ago I noticed that when I went to push buttons on the microwave keypad, the buttons would not beep/make that tone and the microwave would also not beep/make that tone at the end of a timer cycle or a cooking cycle. The non-beeping, or the lack of tones was intermittent. Sometimes those sounds would be there when I pressed the buttons, and sometimes that beep or tone would not be there.I actually had an extended warranty on the microwave with another company however, due to a administrative error by the extended warranty company, I was unable to get the microwave repaired because the repair company had an incorrect address for me and refused to come out until it was corrected. Well, unfortunately because that repair company does not have human beings working for it anymore and everything is automated, I was not able to update my address with the repair company so I canceled my extended warranty through the extended warranty company and I’m hoping to get some sort of refund back from them.However, I still needed my microwave fixed so I jumped on the Internet and found Hartman‘s Appliance Repair. I called them. They called me back within a few minutes and before I knew it, I had an appointment , and was given an estimated cost of everything to get my microwave repaired.Today, the technician Troy showed up and he was absolutely phenomenal. Terrific personality, lots of experience, and he had my microwave repaired in no time. I think he was here a total of one hour tops. He had to replace the microwave display control board, and when he pulled it out, you could see wear marks or some sort of damage on the control board itself. It took him absolutely no time whatsoever to get that control board swapped out and the microwave operationally checked. My microwave is fixed. I will use Hartman‘s appliance repair for all of my appliance repair needs from here on out. I could have replaced the entire microwave, but I just didn’t want to have it ripped out and have to go through all that and for me personally it was just easier to have the part replaced. Money well spent.The lady I spoke to at the office who gave me quotes for everything and scheduled my appointment is phenomenal. Her personality is incredible and I am so lucky to have found this appliance repair company.
